First & Middle Mile Lead
About the role
We’re looking for a proactive and organised First & Middle Mile Lead to take the day-to-day lead on our transport flows – from the first pick-up at merchants to terminal-to-terminal transfers. In this role, you’ll be right in the middle of operations, making sure everything runs smoothly while also finding ways to improve how we work.
You’ll have direct responsibility for one colleague in the team and will work closely with carriers, merchants, and internal teams to ensure our first- and middle-mile operations are on time, cost-efficient, and well-coordinated. This is a role where you’ll get to combine operational coordination with continuous improvement, and see the results of your work in real time.
Some of the things you will do
- Lead daily operations – Coordinate and administer first- and middle-mile routes, making sure they are efficient, reliable, and meet operational needs.
Plan & forecast – Support forecasting and budget work to ensure capacity matches demand and costs stay on track.
Monitor & improve – Track KPIs, identify improvement areas, and implement practical changes that make a real difference.
Communicate & connect – Handle questions from carriers, merchants, and colleagues, keeping everyone informed and aligned.
Contribute to sustainability – Support initiatives that make our transport operations more environmentally friendly.
Support development – Be involved in technical projects and process improvements to future-proof our operations.
What we're looking for
Hands-on leader with the ability to guide and support a small team
Experience in logistics, transport coordination, or supply chain is a plus.
Analytical and logical thinker with a knack for finding smart, practical solutions.
Skilled in Excel and comfortable with basic BI tools.
Clear communicator, both internally and externally, with the confidence to make decisions even under pressure.
