About the role
Are you a visionary People leader with a passion for building high-performing teams? As our new Head of People, Sweden, you'll be the strategic partner to our Swedish leadership team, responsible for attracting, retaining, and developing talent across our diverse workforce consisting of both office- and terminal workers. From leading a small team of People Partners to influence key decisions on a broader scale, you'll be at the heart of our Swedish operations.
Our People & Culture function operates in a matrix model—balancing global alignment with local impact. We work with common frameworks for leadership, performance, and development etc across all markets, while adapting to local business needs, laws and ways of working.
This role reports directly to the Sweden Country Manager and has a functional reporting line to our central People & Culture team and our Director for People Partners, ensuring we keep both strong local partnership and alignment with our global people strategy.
Some of the things you will do
Strategic partnership – Act as a trusted advisor & strategic partner to our Swedish leadership team, aligning People initiatives with their business needs.
Lead & mentor – Coach, guide, and develop a small team of People Partners, fostering trust, high performance, and growth.
Drive People processes – Oversee core People & Culture processes including compensation planning, talent reviews, succession planning and more.
Strengthen employee relations – Manage complex employee matters, ensuring fairness, compliance, and positive union collaboration.
Support recruitment & onboarding – Collaborate with TA to improve how we attract and onboard skilled talent for operations and blue-collar roles.
Enable training & development – Identify learning needs for operational teams and deliver programs that enhance safety, skills, and career growth. All together in close collaboration with our Learning & Development and People Center of Excellence team.
Ensure compliance – Maintain policies and practices aligned with Swedish labor laws and CBAs (Transport).
Champion health & safety – Collaborate with Health & Safety representatives and People Partners to promote a strong culture of safety in our workplaces.
Lead change – Drive transformation initiatives, equipping leaders and teams to navigate shifts effectively and with impactful purpose.
Union relations – Build strong partnerships with union representatives and participate in negotiations with confidence
What we're looking for
To succeed in this role we think you identify yourself as a seasoned and results-driven HR leader, having hands on background from dynamic, multifaceted environments that include both white- and blue-collar workers.
Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, and/or related field.
7+ years of progressive HR experience, with a strong track record from a mix of white and blue-collar environments, ideally from a similar operational background such as
ours.Proven experience in employee relations and unionised settings, including
negotiations.Strong business acumen with a data-informed mindset.
Prior leadership experience, with a track record of developing and inspiring teams.
In-depth knowledge of Swedish labor laws and collective bargaining agreements
Experience with workforce planning, process improvements, and change
management.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Fluency in Swedish and English, spoken and written
