Senior Backend Engineer | Routing Team
The challenge
Every day, thousands of parcels need to find the fastest, cheapest, most accurate route to someone's door — across Sweden and beyond. That's a Traveling Salesman Problem at massive scale, and it's what the Routing Team solves, live, in production.
As a Senior Backend Engineer, your code doesn't sit in a backlog. It ships, and the next day it's already changing distribution costs, delivery accuracy, and the experience of thousands of customers.
The team
You'll join a small, senior, highly collaborative squad: three backend developers, one frontend developer, two algorithm engineers, one ML engineer, an Engineering Manager, a Product Manager, and a Staff Engineer. Low cross-team dependencies mean you can actually drive projects from idea to production — fast.
Tech stack
🐹 Backend
Golang (primary), with legacy Java and Node.js
🖥️ Frontend
React + Next.js
🗄️ Data
PostgreSQL, MongoDB
☁️ Infra
GCP, Kubernetes (Helm), Terraform
🔁 CI/CD & Observability
GitHub Actions, Grafana
What you'll own
Design, build, and ship backend features end-to-end — including proposing the projects worth building
Modernize legacy services (Java/Node) into scalable Go-based architecture
Set the bar for clean, maintainable, well-documented code
Partner with Product to turn technical solutions into KPI impact
Lead incident response and turn root causes into long-term fixes
Mentor engineers and help shape a strong technical culture
What we're looking for
Solid, hands-on experience with Go (or another strongly-typed language) in production
A track record of designing and scaling distributed systems/APIs in the cloud — GCP or AWS
Comfortable with Kubernetes/Helm, Terraform, and SQL
You raise problems before they become incidents, and you help fix them
You make sound decisions under ambiguity, and you enjoy giving/getting feedback
You care where your code actually lands — in a truck, on a route, at someone's door
Bonus: you've worked across legacy stacks and enjoy bringing old systems up to modern standards.
Why this role
Real-world impact, fast. Your work reaches thousands of people daily — not after a year of roadmap, but this quarter.
See it in action. Visit our sorting terminals, ride along with a delivery driver, or shadow ops for a day — build with real context, not assumptions.
Build, don't just maintain. Regular Hack Days let you take an idea from proof-of-concept to production.
Tools that keep up with you. Paid licenses for IDEs and AI coding agents.
Grow with modern tech, without being cut off from where it came from — you'll touch legacy systems too, and get to fix them properly.
